DSM-Firmenich reveals new CEO and CFO appointments after merger with Firmenich International
With the completion of the DSM-Firmenich AG and Firmenich International SA merger set for 8 May 2023, the Board of Directors at DSM-Firmenich has announced adjustments to the company’s CEO structure. Dimitri de Vreeze will assume the role of CEO, effective 1 September 2023, and Ralf Schmeitz will be appointed CFO, replacing the existing Co-CEO structure.
Geraldine Matchett, who played a key role in DSM’s strategic transformation and merger with Firmenich, has decided to leave the company on 1 September to advance her career. Thomas Leysen, Chairman of DSM-Firmenich, expressed gratitude for Matchett’s outstanding contributions as Co-CEO and CFO.
Ralf Schmeitz, an experienced leader in Finance & Control, Treasury, Taxation, and M&A, will join DSM-Firmenich’s Executive Committee as CFO on 1 September 2023. Leysen praised Schmeitz’s background and expressed confidence in de Vreeze’s ability to continue guiding the company in its next chapter.
