Genefitletics was born from my personal experiences with the illnesses of my loved ones. Despite the modern healthcare system’s advanced diagnostics and smart AI technologies, it failed to cure my family members. I became determined to understand why chronic diseases, cancer, infertility, preterm births, and other health issues continued to rise. My research led me to the crucial role of microbes in our body, which make up 57% of our cells. Genefitletics was founded to pioneer the application of microbes to improve human health, making us India’s first and only biotech company bridging the gap between scientific research and human health.
Q: How does the combination of systems biology and artificial intelligence set Genefitletics apart from other biotech companies in the industry?
The key differentiator between Genefitletics and other biotech companies is our focus on “Gene Expression.” While many microbiome companies in precision medicine concentrate on static genes, we prioritize the ever-evolving microbial gene expression. By working at the intersection of system biology and AI, Genefitletics can quantify, measure, and track biological pathways, decoding microbial metabolites’ production, suppressed biological functions, and precision interventions to restore the body to a state of balance.

We have designed, launched, and commercialized Asia’s only gut and vaginal microbiome tests that study and analyze human microbial functions at the molecular and cellular level, empowering people to reclaim control of their health. Over the last two years, we have helped more than 200 people overcome a variety of health challenges, including multiple chronic conditions, autoimmune disorders, anxiety, IBD, hypertension, cholesterol, depression, food intolerances, eating disorders, acne, eczema, and more.
Q: How do you envision the future of personalized medicine, and how does Genefitletics plan to contribute to that vision?
Personalized medicine demands greater precision, which will be achieved through the combination of modern and alternative medicine, ultimately personalizing food as medicine. Our vision is simple: unlike current practices that prescribe one drug for each symptom, we believe there is only one drug for each individual – nutrition tailored to an individual’s unique biology.

Genefitletics’ innovative solutions have empowered many people to regain control of their health. Some of the success stories include:
- A 29-year-old female was struggling with postpartum depression, weight gain, and dry skin. After completing our program, she regained her energy, lost 7 kgs, resolved her hair fall issue, and experienced glowing skin once more.

Ethical considerations should include regulating access to and unveiling data points that can help deep learning models predict diseases in individuals. Currently, there is no regulation for genomics and microbiome data regarding storage, safety, and distribution to third parties. Given the Indian Government’s recent genome sequencing project initiative, ensuring data privacy and usage protection should be a top priority.
Q: What role do you see for public policy and regulatory frameworks in facilitating or hindering the growth and innovation of companies like Genefitletics?
The government should adopt multifaceted approaches to support the growth of innovative companies like Genefitletics, including subsidizing genome and microbiome testing for the general public, incorporating microbiome testing as part of preventive health measures, offering tax holidays for setting up microbiome sequencing facilities, covering microbiome testing under health insurance, and encouraging financial institutions to extend project financing to new-age deep tech and biotechnology companies.
